The database administrator of the Application Development team is responsible for the quality, reliability and usability of Company\\\'s data.

• Has the primary responsibility for physical database administration within company.  Creates production databases and implements changes to them.  Sets up and performs database backup and recovery.  Reviews database logs and monitors system performance to identify and correct error conditions.  Leads performance and tuning efforts for databases and database applications.
• Maintains and enhances existing data acquisition, access and analysis facilities within the firm.  On a project basis, works with business units to identify data to be obtained, locates appropriate sources, and retrieves and organizes data
• Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company databases
• Works with the rest of IT to identify and prioritize projects for database administration, and for improvements to market and research data.
• Creates and maintains project schedules, identifies and resolves issues that impede project progress, and keeps manager informed about project status.
• On a project basis, performs requirements definition, design, coding, testing, integration, documentation, and implementation activities as required
• Acts as an occasional backup for UNIX Systems Administration  tasks
